Weekend Fun

We had such a fun weekend. We were able to spend time with the twins and hangout with our best buds!! We have tried to make the most with the time Dean will be here with us. He will be heading back to Germany soon. We are very excited that Daxton and Dawson will be here this weekend. I can hardly wait!! Gracie and I are going to spend the summer here and go back to Germany in August.

I am always so excited to be with my boys. It is a tough situation, but I try and make the summer a special time for them. Summer is the time I feel like all things are right. It is also a very bittersweet time as well. I am so happy to be with them but I am always counting the days until we are separated again and it makes me sad. I miss them so much when they are not with me. They are such strong little men. I am so proud of them both. With all that we have recently been through God has shown me to cherish the time you have with the ones you love so that is what I am doing! Here are some pics of this weekend. Enjoy!

Memorial Day

I would like to thank all the men and women in the military. Thanks for freely giving yourself to our great country.
I am so proud to be married to my own hero! Thanks so much for what you have sacrificed for our family! I love you Dean.

Home

We are back in the states. Dean's mother passed away on Saturday. She was very ill with cancer no one knew. I praise the Lord that it was quick, only eight days. She held on until we were able to all make it home and was able to have all three boys with her when she passed. It was so hard to watch but also a blessing. I experienced God that night. She was saved and knew she was going to heaven. We prayed together as a family that he would please take her home and within fifteen minutes she was in God's loving arms. Our God is amazing.
She was able to bring her family back together and all of her boys know the Lord. It has been a devastating loss for the flesh side but my soul is so happy that she is with the Lord. Please pray for our family as the coming days and weeks will be tough. Thanks for all the prayers and sweet words. Casey



Something happy. Because we got home early I was able to go back and see all my Busy Bee's on their last day of school!! I love those kiddos and can't believe that so many of them are off to kindergarten! I have been so blessed to be a small part of their little lives!! I pray for the next phase of their lives and their mommys. I love you all Busy Bee's!!!!

Gracie speaks German

We have been trying to teach Gracie a little German. Simple things like danke and bitte,which is thank you and your welcome. She has figured out how to use those phrases fairly well. We had been out and we had the cutest conversation.
Me: Let's get out of the car.
Grace: Ok. please carry my bag.
Me: Ok
Grace:danke
Me:bitte Wow you are doing so well. You can speak German.
Grace: I know. Uno, dos, tres, quatro
It was very funny. We have laughed and laughed. Thank goodness for Dora!!

I did it!!!! I made the Macaroni Grill rosemary bread!!! Not exactly, but pretty darn close! I am the champion!! Kidding! Watch out Martha here I come!!

Changes

Changes..... Wow My LilliGrace is changing. Everyday she has about 500 wardrobe changes. From ballet, to "bimnastics" to cheerleader, princess, to Hannah Montanna!! She is getting so big. I don't remeber the boys doing the clothes thing like Gracie. Boys and girls are so different. I love that she has an incredible imagination. I just don't love all the laundry!!! Here she is in about the 5th outfit today! I love you baby girl.

Our House

Front of the house....

Back deck the door goes right into our room...
Living room, it is a big L so this is only part of it...

So this is my house. It is very different then back in the states. It has concrete walls, no closets, and all the windows open completely (since there is no ac)... no screens! I really don't like flys!!! And well we live in the country in the farmlands and well they use natural fertilizer so there are lots of flys! So gross!! Anyway I digress, they are heated with wall radiators and use oil. I always tell mom that her house is so cold well I can tell you that this house so much colder! And since it cost a pretty penny to buy the oil we are trying to be conservative! It is much better now since spring has finally arrived! Anyhow it is a 300+ year old house that has just been re-done. It has 3 well 4 floors if you incluse the creepy cellar and attic. The attic is great, huge big room tons of storage.. could easily be used for a game room or something just don't let your mind wander!!! I haven't seen to many scary movies but I sware they could film one up there! The bathrooms are awesome! I think it is something they really take pride in! I know that sounds silly but they are really nice. And they really like the color orange! It is everywhere! We got lucky with this house and we only have one orange room! It is a muted tangerine! Not my favorite. The kitchen is pretty small but all new! It has the super tiny european frig. no freezer. But the base provides all the big appliances so we have a good ole Whirlpool frig upstairs!

The backyard is wonderful. We have an office not just a room to use as the office but actual built in office.Which is now half office half craft room! I love having my own space to be creative! Our landlord is a painter and carpenter he has done an amazing job. The houses here are laid out much differently and there are lots of doors! Anyway they have the cute little flower boxes for the window sills. I really like it! And we are so happy with our house! Our landlord speaks no English so that is tough but we are learning more and more German everyday!

Trier

Here are a few pictures of the day we went to Trier. It is only about 30 min away but we decided totake the train just for fun. Gracie had a great time! She has wanted to ride the train since we got here. It is a very old Roman city and the gate is still standing. The "porta negra" or black gate. We walked through and truly experienced history. I could not help but be overwhelmed by the size and detail done so long ago.

There are also beautiful cathedrals. We were able to go inside one. It was breath taking.

On top of all that there is decent shopping. Which is fun because where we are there is not a whole lot.

A prince or a cowboy?

Much to our dimay.. Our little one has decided she wants to get married! The only question is a prince or a cowboy! We keep telling her it will be a long time until God sends her a boy as she says. Still she is growing up and makes me sad. She is just getting way to big!
