This week we celebrated St. Martin's Day. At school Gracie and I made a latern she picked a pink pig. On Thursday evening we went to the church and they had a children's service, they did a play about St. Martin and sang songs. It was all in German so we did not understand a thing but it was fun. After we all went outside and the children put little lights in their laterns and we paraded down about 6 blocks following a man a horse that was dressed as St. Martin. At the school we all ate sugared pretzels and had hot cider around a bonfire. It was so much fun! I finally researched who St. Martin was and he was a man who helped the poor and dedicated himself to helping people. Here are few pictures from that evening.
Who am I? I am Casey. I am married to my own hero and best friend! A small town girl who thanks to the US military is enjoying a brief stay in Europe. I am going to attempt to share our journey here. On top of being in Europe we are a very how shall we say family of 2008!?! We have 6 children we share. But here in Germany we have a very sweet little 4 yr old to help keep us entertained! We are a very busy family and never is there a dull moment. The Lord has blessed us with amzaing children and great friends. I hope that you can enjoy a little part of Europe through this small town girls perspective!!
